Our comprehensive care includes primary care, women's health, pediatrics, behavioral health, dental, optometry, dermatology, pharmacy, laboratory services, and care coordination.

About the role

The Dental Front Office Coordinator is one of the first people our dental patients interact with—helping them schedule appointments, navigate insurance and referrals, understand next steps, and feel welcomed and supported throughout their experience.

Responsibilities

  • Create a welcoming, respectful experience for every patient, both in person and over the phone.
  • Greet patients and provide clear directions and information when they arrive at the health center.
  • Answer incoming calls and connect patients with the appropriate department or resource.
  • Help patients understand their appointments, next steps, and available services.
  • Schedule and coordinate dental appointments accurately and efficiently.
  • Register new and returning patients and maintain accurate demographic information in the electronic health record.
  • Process and follow up on internal and external dental referrals.
  • Help keep patient information and charts current and accurate.
  • Assist with dental insurance verification and processing.
  • Conduct financial triage and help patients understand applicable requirements and processes.
  • Apply knowledge of dental insurance requirements to support accurate registration and scheduling.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality and respecting patient rights.
  • Collaborate with the dental team and other departments to help patients receive timely, coordinated care.
  • Adapt to changing workflows and support the needs of different Eisner Health locations.
  • Contribute to Eisner Health’s quality improvement initiatives, strategic goals, and commitment to excellent patient care.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 6 months–1 year dental front office/clerical experience, including knowledge of dental insurance processes.
  • Basic dental terminology and office workflow familiarity.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish; able to communicate clearly and compassionately in person and by phone.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to a positive patient experience.
  • Excellent phone skills; able to listen, explain information clearly, and respond professionally.
  • Comfortable with computers, multi-line phones, and office equipment; able to learn EHR and phone systems within 1 month.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong time management and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) certification or previous dental assisting experience.
  • Experience working in a community health center, FQHC, or other patient-centered healthcare environment.
