About the role

Serving as a Business Assistant in our front office, you'll be part of a supportive and collaborative team focused on providing excellent patient care. Our office is located at SR 44 and I-74, near Rural King.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome patients to create a positive first impression
  • Manage front office duties such as answering phones, checking mail and email, and communicating with patients and insurance companies
  • Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record management
  • Schedule and confirm appointments for multiple providers
  • File patient insurance claims and follow up on outstanding claims, verification of benefits, and explanation of coverage
  • Post insurance and patient payments and process accounts receivables
  • Review treatment plan fees and payment options with patients
  • Partner with providers and the team to implement Heartland Dental systems to optimize office operations

Requirements

  • Experience working in a fast-paced and customer-centric environment
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • The position will have access to minimum PHI necessary for performing job-related functions; regular HIPAA training will be required

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in a dental or medical setting
  • 1+ years of experience with insurance billing and accounts receivable
  • Dentrix or other dental software experience preferred

Skills

  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality

Pay

Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Schedule

Monday through Thursday, with Friday rotation.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
