The Patient Accounts/Dental Billing Specialist is responsible for all Dental billing, collections and data entry functions assigned by the Fitchburg Patient Accounts Manager. The position is located in CHC’s at the Fitchburg Community Health Center Office. Essential Duties And Responsibilities  Ensure all Dental charges are processed completely and accurately within 48 hours of office visit. Submit electronic and paper claims on a rotating daily basis  Accurately post payment, and adjustments to patient accounts according to contractual agreements  Ensure all EOB's are processed and any denied claims are resubmitted accurately. Follow up on any reports through the electronic claims system  Send patient statements weekly, and follow up on past due accounts with collection calls  Reconcile co pay collections, with deposits  Provide information and guidance to patients to help them through the process of obtaining health care.  Assist patients with completing insurance by utilizing the Gateway software.  Utilization of Dental and Medical Software for billing and reporting purposes.  Provide follow-up with patients via telephone or correspondence to ensure that all necessary information has been obtained.  Reviews self pay list and re-verifies insurance coverage to ensure timely billing.  Occasional processing dental claims to medical carrier, if deemed necessary through NexGen.  Performs other job related duties as required or assigned  Demonstrate understanding and commitment to the health center mission.  Demonstrate understanding and commitment to the established CHC Values and Standards Minimum Qualifications  High school diploma or GED required.  Minimum 1 Yrs Dental And/or Dental Billing Experience.  Associates or Bachelors Degree in Business preferred.  Experience with use of various PC based software products, including but not limited to: word processing, spreadsheets and database programs such as MS Access. Experience with Dental Billing, Mass Health and 3rd party billing and collections required. Experience with Medical Manager software preferred. Knowledge of the Uncompensated Care pool, and other state funding helpful. Competencies: Individual departments will develop competencies which will be communicated and maintained through CHC’s performance evaluation system. Supervision Exercised: None Environmental Working Conditions: Normal medical office environment of a busy Community Health Center Physical Requirements: The physical and mental demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this job with or without a reasonable accommodation. Position requires physical ability to move about the Health Center and to perform normal office tasks including computer data entry. Normal visual acuity and standard clerical dexterity to operate computers, printers, photocopiers, and fax machines; moderate walking, standing, reaching, and stooping in order to accomplish everyday office tasks.
