About the Role
Per diem dental assistant position supporting dentists, hygienists, and residents in the delivery of primary dental care.
Responsibilities
- Provide chair-side assistance during dental procedures
- Sterilize instruments and manage infection control protocols
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and perform lab work
- Handle administrative tasks including scheduling, patient charting, and front desk duties
- Ensure equipment maintenance and compliance with safety standards
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Current Massachusetts Dental Assisting License
- CPR (BLS) certification
- Radiology certification
- Effective communication and multitasking abilities
- Commitment to confidentiality, safety, and professional development
Skills & Preferences
- Knowledge of dental assisting procedures and administrative tasks
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
- Preferred: Completion of an accredited dental assisting course
- Preferred: Familiarity with Epic software
- Preferred: Clerical and organizational skills
Physical & Work Environment
- Moderate physical activity including standing, walking, and handling objects up to 20 pounds
- Exposure to various environmental elements and potential contact with blood-borne pathogens
- OSHA training required
