Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist in providing dental treatment
  • Function as a treatment coordinator and prepare/present treatment plans to patients
  • Schedule patient appointments, accommodating potential obstacles
  • Maintain dental instruments, supplies, and equipment
  • Collect and record patient health histories
  • Assist with patient management during dental procedures
  • Complete instrument cleaning, sterilization, and post-op sanitization of treatment rooms
  • Prepare dental materials and equipment for scheduled treatments
  • Complete dental charting
  • Manage inventory supply and perform other ancillary duties

Requirements

  • DAII Training or equivalent
  • Preferred 2-5 years of Dental Assistant experience
  • Achieved CDA certification, or completed radiological equivalency exam through NC State Board of Dental Examiners, or completed CODA-accredited dental assisting program
  • CPR certified, or willing to become certified within 30 days of hire
  • Ability to professionally present clinical and insurance information to patients
  • Knowledge of Eaglesoft and/or Denticon software (a plus)
  • Regular and timely attendance
  • Demonstrated independent thinking, good judgment, and teamwork approach
  • Initiative, dependability, and promptness
  • Flexibility to accept different work assignments, including travel to other locations, with a positive attitude
  • Ability to follow instructions and take responsibility for actions
  • Exercise confidentiality with patients and patient care
  • Attentive listening for clarification to ensure necessary outcomes

Language and Reasoning Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, procedure manuals, and written correspondence
  • Solve practical problems with limited standardization
  • Interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
