Responsibilities
- Partners with the practice team to provide excellent clinical support to help patients get the care they need.
- Aid in preparing the patient for treatment and assisting the dentist in restorative dentistry.
Qualifications
- Dental Assisting Certification or prior on the job training
- 1-5 years of experience preferred; will consider new graduates
- Radiography/X-RAY certification for respective state
- CPR Certification required
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Commitment to providing exceptional service, support, and education to patients
Skills Required
- Excellent chair-side clinical support and assistance to Doctors and Hygienists
- Charting, operatory set/clean up, and patient education
- Records and reviews patient health history
- Makes chart entries under the doctor's direction and assures completion of forms and signatures in dental software
- Reviews the daily schedule to set up appropriate trays and instruments
- Prepares patients, sterilizes and disinfects instruments, sets up instrument trays, maintains chain of asepsis, prepares materials, and assists dentists during dental procedures following OSHA guidelines
- Exposes and develops dental diagnostic radiographs
- Fulfills OSHA regulations and safety requirements, including compliance with HIPAA guidelines, CPR, X-rays, and other required certifications and registrations
