Dental Assistant I

Responsibilities

• Partners with the practice team to provide excellent clinical support to help patients get the care they need.
• Aid in preparing the patient for treatment and assisting the dentist in restorative dentistry.

Qualifications

• Dental Assisting Certification or prior on the job training
• 1-5 years of experience preferred; will consider new graduates
• Radiography/X-RAY certification for respective state
• CPR Certification required
• Proficient in MS Office Suite
• Commitment to providing exceptional service, support, and education to patients

Skills Required

• Excellent chair-side clinical support and assistance to Doctors and Hygienists
• Charting, operatory set/clean up, and patient education
• Records and reviews patient health history
• Makes chart entries under the doctor's direction and assures completion of forms and signatures in dental software
• Reviews the daily schedule to set up appropriate trays and instruments
• Prepares patients, sterilizes and disinfects instruments, sets up instrument trays, maintains chain of asepsis, prepares materials, and assists dentists during dental procedures following OSHA guidelines
• Exposes and develops dental diagnostic radiographs
• Fulfills OSHA regulations and safety requirements, including compliance with HIPAA guidelines, CPR, X-rays, and other required certifications and registrations
