Responsibilities
- Maintaining and updating patient medical records and vital signs
- Performing X-ray procedures, developing and storing images electronically
- Assisting with periodontal charting, preparing instruments and materials
- Providing preventive care such as polishing, fluoride treatments, and sealants
- Monitoring nitrous oxide analgesia under supervision (Washington only)
- Educating patients on oral hygiene and infection control protocols
- Assisting with orthodontic procedures and managing clinic operations as needed
- Ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and assisting in training staff
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- BLS certification within 90 days
- Dental assistant registration or EFDA certification
- Bilingual in English/Spanish at a high proficiency level
- Knowledge of dental terminology, materials, infection control, and oral health education
- Manual dexterity and ability to perform four-handed assisting
- Proficiency with Electronic Dental Records and basic software tools
