Dental Assistant (Bilingual, Spanish)

About the role
Academy Kids Dental, Vision and Orthodontics in Colorado Springs, CO are seeking a Dental Assistant to support the dentist and hygienist in providing high-quality and compassionate care to all patients. This position is at-will, meaning either the employer or the employee may terminate employment at any time, with or without cause or prior notice.
Responsibilities
- Collect and document clear, concise, and accurate patient records
- Obtain quality dental radiographs (periapicals, bitewings, panoramic) as requested by the dentist
- Write accurate and consistent notes, ensuring chart notes match services completed
- Create a friendly relationship with patients and parents as well as educating them on good oral health
- Organize and sterilize dental instruments and workstations per OSHA standards
- Ensure practice is clean and presentable to patients to include cleaning restrooms, patient lobby, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, etc.
- Participate in other duties that support the mission of providing high-quality and compassionate dental, vision, and orthodontic services to underserved children
Requirements
- Radiology education and training that meets state requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills, including a friendly outgoing demeanor and the ability to actively listen to patients and parents
- Ability to multi-task and complete dental tasks correctly and in a timely manner
- Knowledge of e-Clinical Works (eCW) a plus
- Previous experience working in a dental office preferred
- Current BLS CPR certification
Physical Requirements
This position requires full range of body motion. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk and stand, bend, communicate verbally (both in person and by telephone), use hands repetitively to handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment
Work is performed in a standard clinical environment. This role routinely utilizes standard dental equipment.
Pay
$16.50–$25.00 per hour, plus bonus opportunity
