Our office, Connecticut Oral Surgery Centers - North Haven, is seeking a talented Dental Assistant to join our busy specialty practice. We are looking for a skilled professional to help us accomplish our mission to improve the lives of our patients by providing a world-class specialty experience.
Responsibilities
- Welcoming patients to the dental office
- Preparing patients for treatment, ensuring their comfort
- Selecting and setting up instruments, equipment, and supplies
- Sterilizing instruments according to regulations
- Assisting the dentist through 4-handed dentistry
- Providing oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
- Keeping the dental room clean and well-stocked
- Scheduling appointments and post-op visits
- Maintaining accurate patient records
- Assisting with payment procedures
- Facilitating and coordinating other office responsibilities as needed
Requirements
- X-ray and ICE certification required
- Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
- Understanding of health & safety regulations
- Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks
- Good computer skills
- Excellent communication and people skills
- A strong attention to detail
- Well-organized and reliable
- High school diploma
- Certificate from an accredited dental assistant program (if required by law)
- Active state radiology license (if required by law)
- Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to operate standard office equipment
- Must be able to assist patients safely in and out of chairs or treatment areas
- Must be able to maintain clinical positioning for extended periods
- Must be able to work around medical equipment and instruments
- Must be able to adhere to OSHA and infection control standards
- Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist movements
- Must be able to respond quickly in emergency situations

Position Base Pay Range: $28 USD - $32 USD
