About the Role
Located in South Ari Atoll, less than 20 minutes from Velana International Airport by domestic flight. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook teppanyaki dishes according to restaurant standards and guest orders
- Perform live cooking and guest interaction in a teppanyaki style setting
- Set up and maintain the teppanyaki station before, during, and after service
- Ensure ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and well-prepared
- Perform efficiently during busy service while maintaining quality and consistency
- Provide excellent teamwork and communication with kitchen and service team members
- Ensure that food is stored, prepared, and secured hygienically and safely
- Ensure that food is prepared and cooked according to specific recipes and wastage is minimized
- Assist in maintaining standards of hygiene and cleanliness in all kitchen and related areas
- Check mise-en-place and preparation procedures ensuring that procedures are correctly followed
- Report any engineering defects to immediate supervisors
- Train, coach, and develop subordinate employees
- Contribute to the morale and team spirit of the hotel by maintaining effective relationships with colleagues
- Make appropriate suggestions and recommendations to supervisors for the general improvement of the hotel
- Maintain full awareness of all health and safety, fire, and emergency procedures
- Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene, dress, uniform, and body language
- Be polite and professional in any situation where the image or regulation of the hotel is represented
- Ensure that all activities are carried out honestly, ethically, and within the parameters of local law
- Assist with stock handling, ordering, and minimizing waste
- Perform additional duties as directed by supervisors
Requirements
- Proficient in the English language
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive kitchen experience in a luxury hotel kitchen or a related field
- Must have held the same position in a luxury hotel kitchen or a related field
- Must be flexible in terms of working hours
- Must be physically fit in order to lift items up to 25 kilograms
- Must have leadership and communication skills
