Demand Writer - Personal Injury

About the role
We are seeking a skilled Demand Writer to join our Stockton, CA location. This role involves working in cross-functional teams to draft demand packages for insurance companies, analyzing medical records and bills, and creating persuasive summaries of case facts. The ideal candidate is motivated by growth, able to manage multiple deadlines, and works collaboratively. This is a full-time role, initially remote with a future transition to our Stockton office.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research to gather facts about assigned cases, including ISO reports, claim searches, EAMs reports, and med checks
- Meticulously analyze and parse through medical bills and records to understand the progression of client injuries
- Write detailed reports of research findings in an approved legal format
- Communicate with clients, medical providers, and insurance companies to request and clarify case details
- Draft demand letters for assigned cases, consulting with legal support staff and attorneys to ensure accuracy and continuity
- Collaborate with team members to meet demand deadlines
Requirements
- Associate's degree or certificate in criminal justice, legal studies, creative writing, or related field
- Previous work experience in a drafting/writing role
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and comprehend legal documents such as medical bills and insurance claims
- Strong knowledge of legal drafting techniques and requirements
- Effective written and oral communication skills with clients and vendors
- Impeccable organizational skills and ability to balance multiple cases and priorities
- Meticulous writing abilities
- Excellent collaboration and relationship-building skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, legal studies, creative writing, or related field
- 1-3 years of experience in a legal writing role
