Demand Planning Analyst
What You’ll Own & Impact
- Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts by analyzing historical sales, market trends, customer demand, and business inputs.
- Build demand plans using key forecasting drivers such as store count, distribution, facings, sales velocity, and sell-through rates.
- Validate and continuously improve forecast accuracy through KPI analysis, including forecast accuracy, bias, fill rate, and inventory performance.
- Partner closely with Sales to incorporate promotional plans, customer forecasts, and new product launches into the demand planning process.
- Leverage market intelligence, competitive activity, economic trends, and category insights to strengthen forecasting assumptions.
- Analyze customer, sales, and market data to identify demand trends, risks, and opportunities that support business decision-making.
- Participate in the monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, ensuring alignment across Commercial, Supply Chain, and Operations teams.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Planning to reconcile forecast variances and support inventory planning.
- Provide demand planning recommendations for new product launches, product transitions, and phase-out strategies to ensure optimal inventory levels.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field
- 2–4 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain management
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency with tools like Excel, SAP, or other ERP systems
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Proven ability to translate data into clear, actionable plans
Preferred
- Experience with statistical forecasting tools
- Experience with inventory management
- Experience with S&OP processes
Location & Compensation
Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid 3x a week in office)
Compensation: $75,000 - $85,000
