Deltek Data Architect/ Data Modeler (Hybrid)
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a subject matter expert for Deltek Costpoint data architecture.
- Deeply understand Admin, System, Transactional, Time & Expense, and Project schemas.
- Translate them into optimized analytical models.
- Lead the design and governance of enterprise-grade data models (conceptual, logical, and physical).
- Drive performance optimization across data models, SQL logic, and integration pipelines.
- Architect and implement complex, high-volume data integration solutions using SSIS, Azure Data Factory, and cloud-native patterns.
- Integrate Deltek Costpoint with downstream analytics platforms.
- Design and evolve cloud-based data architectures leveraging Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse Analytics, and related services.
- Establish and enforce data quality, integrity, security, and lineage standards across all integration and modeling layers.
- Define and manage transformation project/tasks.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to developers and analysts.
- Define operational approach for ETL/ELT.
Basic Qualifications
- Possession of Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university or four (4) years relevant experience in lieu of degree.
- Foreign degrees must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in data integration, ETL, and data modeling roles.
- Demonstrated experience designing enterprise analytics platforms.
- Proven ability to translate complex ERP data structures into clean, business-friendly analytical models.
- Experience leading cloud migration or modernization initiatives for data platforms.
- Extensive experience working with Deltek Costpoint (or other ERP), with strong understanding of Accounting, Projects, People, and related financial/process data flows.
- Familiarity integrating modeled data with Cognos and other enterprise BI platforms.
- Proven expertise in enterprise data modeling, including star/snowflake schemas, financial and project accounting models, slowly changing dimensions, and fact table design.
- Advanced mastery of SQL Server and/or Oracle databases, including query optimization, indexing strategies, and large-scale data transformations.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across IT, finance, and business stakeholders.
- Ability to work on site in Frederick, MD a minimum of one (1) day per week.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Azure SQL DB, ADLS, Synapse Analytics, and modern cloud data architecture patterns.
- Deep, hands-on expertise with SSIS and Azure Data Factory (or similar technologies).
- Experience with Python for data transformation, automation, or integration enhancements.
Program Description
The Enterprise Solutions group (BES) is part of the Enterprise IT directorate, overseeing the strategic vision and implementation plan of IT systems and solutions that support Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research (FNL) operational and scientific organizations. The BES scope includes development, integration and optimization of the enterprise business systems used by the FNL operator, Leidos Biomedical Research, as well as logical and automation solutions for the scientific community.
Pay And Benefits
The posted pay range for this job is $123,800.00 - $207,125.00 USD. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include, but are not limited to, responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as internal equity, and alignment with market data. The salary range posted is a full-time equivalent salary and will vary depending on scheduled hours for part time positions.
