Delivery Specialist

The Delivery Specialist will maintain and operate store vehicles to deliver parts and/or products to professional customers in a safe and efficient manner, collect money on C.O.D. deliveries, and pick up customer returns. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Operate company vehicles to deliver parts and products to customers safely and efficiently.
• Use delivery fleet‑management hand‑held devices to process deliveries, capture customer signatures, update vehicle mileage, and complete daily vehicle inspections.
• Keep vehicles clean, maintained, and perform daily inspections prior to operating.
• Secure delivery vehicles, keys, fuel/fleet credit cards, hand‑held devices, and monies collected at all times.
• Pick up customer returns (new, warranty, cores, etc.) and complete driver return slips.
• Communicate any problems or special customer needs to store management.
• Report vehicle maintenance needs, accidents, or damage to the store manager immediately.
• Ensure fuel tank is filled and lock/secure the vehicle at the end of the day.
• Clock in/out according to company policy.
• Additional duties as assigned, including customer service, sweeping, general stocking, merchandising, running errands, handling core returns, checking in and putting up stock orders, etc.
• Occasionally assist customers, serve as a cashier, and/or help with merchandising tasks (phones, sales, service) when business dictates.
• All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to changing delivery situations.
• Driving record must meet the standard set in the company’s 14/18‑point record system.
• Legally required state driver’s license and compliance with company‑mandated driving eligibility requirements.
• Familiarity with automotive parts (desired).
• Ability to operate other light store equipment (desired).
• Fluency in multiple languages; Spanish is highly desired.
