Delivery Professional

We believe that our Delivery Professionals are the heart and soul of our business, serving as the primary ambassadors to our valued customers. This role involves delivering new caskets to funeral homes in the Albuquerque, NM area using company box trucks and vans.

About the role

Matthews International is a worldwide leader in casket manufacturing, providing high-quality wood, metal, and cremation caskets and other products to funeral home customers.

Responsibilities

• Deliver new caskets to funeral homes in the surrounding area using company box trucks and vans.
• Assist in warehouse operations, including prepping, loading and unloading caskets, inventory management, and maintaining an organized workspace.
• Provide friendly and welcoming customer service.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
• Previous delivery driver experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and education and experience.
• Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
• Must have a current driver’s license (CDL is NOT required).
• Ability to pass a DOT Physical and MVR Check.
• Maintain a safe driving record, demonstrating responsible and cautious driving behavior.
• Basic proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook, and Internet applications.
• Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, and planning skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, including analysis, interpretation, and reasoning.
• Basic understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers, colleagues, and clients.
• Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
• Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.
• Ability to work overtime as necessary.

Physical Aspects / Work Environment

• Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk, hear, and see.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50+ pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and heat, risk of electrical shock, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
• The noise level in the work environment may be high.

Pay

$21 per hour.

Schedule

• First Shift position, home every early afternoon.
• 3-4 days per week, no weekends. Days may vary week to week.
• 25-29 hours per week.
