Delivery Professional

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Part-Time Delivery Professional to join our team at our Elizabethtown, KY Service Center. This position will be responsible for delivering new caskets to funeral homes in the surrounding area using company box trucks and vans. Matthews International is a worldwide leader in casket manufacturing, providing high-quality wood, metal, and cremation caskets to funeral home customers.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of new caskets to funeral homes in the surrounding area using company box trucks and vans.
• Contribute to warehouse operations, including prepping, loading and unloading caskets, inventory management, and maintaining an organized workspace.
• Provide friendly and welcoming customer service.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
• Must have a current driver’s license (CDL is NOT required).
• Ability to pass a DOT Physical and MVR Check.
• Maintain a safe driving record, demonstrating responsible and cautious driving behavior.
• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
• Previous delivery driver experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook, and Internet applications.
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers, colleagues, and clients.
• Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
• Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.
• Ability to work overtime as necessary.

Skills

• Basic analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), and planning skills.
• Basic verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, and reasoning).
• Basic understanding and application of mathematical concepts.

Physical Aspects / Work Environment

• Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk, hear, and see.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50+ pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and heat, risk of electrical shock, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
• The noise level in the work environment may be high.

Pay

$21 per hour.

Schedule

• Work Shift: 6:00 AM - Finish (home by early afternoon).
• Work Schedule: Mondays, Tuesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays (when needed).
• Weekly Hours: 25 - 29 hours.
