Delivery Material Handler

About the role

Gulfeagle Supply is a family-owned business that serves as a full-line distributor of residential and commercial roofing and building products. The company focuses on serving professional contractors while also offering products and services to homeowners, architects, and general contractors.

Responsibilities

• Delivery: Load or assist in loading and securing materials on trucks daily. Verify quantities for accuracy. Locate and direct driver to job sites.
• Roof Top: Climb up to a 40-foot ladder to deliver materials on a pitch of up to an 8/12 roof. Ensure proper stacking and distribution.
• Equipment: Ensure truck is properly equipped for delivery, including filling coolers, strapping materials, loading ladders, and other tasks as needed.
• OSHA: Comply with OSHA regulations related to both personal safety and company operations.
• Inventory: Assist in taking inventory quarterly or as needed.
• Maintenance: Maintain warehouse, yard, and trucks in a proper and presentable condition. Perform minor repairs as needed.
• Safety: Handle materials safely, wear necessary protective gear, and aid in the safe operation of vehicles.
• Customer Service: Aide customers with materials, report delivery and service issues, and handle other customer-related matters.

Qualifications

• Read, write, and comprehend English or Spanish as required by the branch location.
• Knowledge of roofing material and/or construction and distribution.
• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions.
• Ability to bend, reach, lift, and climb.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds of material continuously for up to two hours at a time.
• Attention to detail to prevent damage to materials and equipment.
• Ability to maintain loyalty to Gulfeagle Supply.
• Ability to interact with the public in a courteous and professional manner.

Skills
