Delivery Manager

The Delivery Manager is accountable for effective and efficient planning, routing, and data clean-up for all deliveries within their area of responsibility. This position works closely with the management team to ensure superior customer service through on-time deliveries while maintaining and continually improving the operational efficiency of all truck/driver combinations. The Delivery Manager will proactively lead continuous improvement in truck utilization and delivery timeliness.

Responsibilities

• Strong people management and logistics/routing experience.
• Analytical skills to assess and drive improvement in productivity metrics.
• Outgoing personality with strong interpersonal skills, including persuasion and influence.
• Analyze customer accounts regarding delivery scheduling methods and make changes to promote daily delivery efficiency.
• Work closely with the management team to reduce/eliminate overtime and operate within the branch budget for personnel and vehicle expenses.
• Partner with the management team to monitor and streamline processes, reducing delivery costs while increasing efficiency, quality, and key metrics.
• Manage order prioritization to improve/maximize customer service, focusing on high-priority/high-quality customers.
• Utilize routing technology to ensure the most effective routes are built.
• Review accounts for errors that may cause inefficient deliveries.
• Participate in the ongoing development of distribution tools, practices, and technology.
• Work within CARGAS Energy and Tableau to review deliveries for potential improvements in delivery metrics.
• Must be able to sit at a desk for extended periods of time.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree a plus.
• Previous experience in routing and delivery.
• Previous management/supervisory experience.
• Experience with CARGAS Energy a plus.
• Project management or process improvement experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Effective problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated business/financial acumen.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities, able to motivate and develop people.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Knowledge of logistics management and DOT regulations.
