Delivery Helper

Summary

The Delivery Helper assists the Truck Driver with loading, transporting, unloading, and staging windows, doors, and other materials. This position helps ensure deliveries are completed safely, accurately, on time, and in a manner that exceeds customer expectations. The Delivery Helper may also serve as a backup driver when needed to support business operations and customer delivery commitments.

Essential Responsibilities

• Assist drivers with daily route preparation and deliveries.
• Load and unload windows, doors, and building materials safely.
• Verify product quantities and inspect for damage.
• Stage materials at customer locations according to delivery requirements.
• Assist with securing products for transport.
• Maintain delivery paperwork and obtain customer signatures when needed.
• Follow all company safety policies and proper lifting procedures.
• Provide professional and courteous customer service.
• Maintain a clean and organized delivery vehicle.
• Report delivery issues, damaged products, or safety concerns.
• Assist with product returns, exchanges, and jobsite pickups.
• Help ensure delivery schedules are completed efficiently and accurately.
• Serve as a backup driver during emergencies, staffing shortages, route coverage needs, or other business situations as requested by company management, provided all licensing and company driving requirements are met.

Experience Requirements

• Previous delivery, warehouse, construction, or material-handling experience preferred.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Customer-focused attitude.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards.
• Ability to safely operate company vehicles when serving as a backup driver.
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.

Training & Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid, clean driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
