Delivery Helper

Assist the driver in loading, locating job sites, backing, preparing and restoring the job site, and preparing the truck for the following day while maintaining the truck and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with company, state, and federal guidelines, particularly OSHA and DOT, to ensure the safety of all personnel.
  • Perform pre-trip inspections of equipment, paperwork, and loaded product to ensure order accuracy.
  • Safely unload product and deliver to the assigned area as directed by the customer.
  • Secure mud, equipment, metal, and pallets on the truck.
  • Navigate routes to the job site.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate information accurately.
  • Stamina to lift at least 75 lbs. to carry materials such as drywall and joint compound.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and on a team; ability to lead, execute, and/or delegate as needed while collaborating with others.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships at every level of the organization.
  • Help champion an inclusive working environment.
  • Ability to self-manage, show initiative, be proactive, and drive results.
  • Communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing, to coworkers and customers.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to remain standing 90% of the time.
  • Constantly move while unloading materials from commercial motor vehicles onto job sites.
  • Frequently position self to unload and load materials from flatbed or boom.
  • Frequently move materials weighing up to 100 lbs. while unloading and loading flatbed.
  • Must be able to communicate with management and coworkers to exchange accurate information.
  • Constantly work in an outside environment while making deliveries.
