Delivery Helper

About the role

Ajax Distributing is a family owned and operated distribution company for beer and non-alcoholic beverages in Clarksville, Paris, Memphis and surrounding areas. Started in 1933 as a Double Cola and Dr. Pepper bottler and Falstaff and Gerst beer distributor, the company later acquired rights to Miller High Life, Miller Lite, and Coors Brewing Company.

Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 40+ hours per week. Location: Clarksville, TN. Assist delivery driver personnel in delivering beverage products to retail accounts on a predetermined route for advance sales.

Responsibilities

• Comply with quality assurance policies and procedures
• Maintain strong customer rapport, quality service, and effective merchandising of all products
• Assure quality standards are maintained through scheduled product rotation without direct supervision
• Deliver all products to scheduled accounts in good condition and within scheduled delivery time
• Assure all brands and packages are rotated in back rooms on a "first-in, first-out" basis in accordance with supplier requirements to safeguard that no past-dated products are made available to consumers
• Abide by all local, state and federal beverage codes
• Provide shelf merchandising to all stores upon request by manager or customer
• Maintain cab and bays of truck in a neat and clean manner at all times
• Provide excellent rapport and positive exposure of product through quality service to ultimately increase product sales and market share
• Perform other similar or related duties as requested or assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Commercial Class A License or permit preferred but not required
• Experience in beverage delivery preferred
• Must be able to lift products from 25 lbs to 50 lbs on a regular basis and up to 170 lbs when handling keg products
• Able to push or pull carts that weigh up to 800 lbs when loaded
