Responsibilities

  • Operate all store equipment.
  • Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk-in cooler.
  • Prepare product and receive/process telephone orders.
  • Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
  • Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
  • Deliver pizzas and beverages to customers within a designated area.
  • Deliver flyers and door hangers.
  • Navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings and private homes, while carrying product.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record meeting company standards.
  • Access to an insured vehicle for deliveries.
  • Navigational skills to read maps and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (may use a calculator).
  • Ability to make correct monetary change.
  • Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
  • Motor coordination for rapid and precise movements, including using a computer keyboard or touch screen.

Skills

  • Communication: Ability to comprehend and give correct written and verbal instructions, including processing orders over the phone and in person.
  • Essential Functions: Ability to perform repetitive tasks, work alone or with others, handle stress, meet quality control standards, and make judgments and decisions.
  • Sensory: Talking and hearing on the phone, near and mid-range vision for in-store tasks, depth perception, ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces, and far/night vision for driving.

Work Conditions

  • Exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when performing outside tasks or deliveries.
  • In-store temperatures range from 36°F in coolers to 90°F or higher in some work areas, with sudden temperature changes.
  • Exposure to fumes from food odors, cornmeal dust, and cramped quarters (e.g., walk-in cooler).
  • Hot surfaces/tools from ovens up to 500°F or higher.
  • Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.

Physical Requirements

  • Standing: Most tasks are performed from a standing position on ceramic tile or linoleum surfaces. Work surfaces range from 36" to 48" in height.
  • Walking: Short distances for short durations, including between the store and delivery vehicle, and from the vehicle to the customer's location.
  • Sitting: Paperwork is completed at a desk or table in an office.
  • Lifting: Unload bulk product deliveries (up to 50 pounds) using a hand truck. Stack cases onto shelves up to 72" high. Carry large cans (3 lbs, 7 oz), pizza sauce (30 lbs), and trays of pizza dough (12 lbs per tray).
  • Pushing/Pulling: Move trays on dollies (requiring up to 7.5 pounds of force).
  • Climbing: Navigate stairs or ladders for tasks like changing prices, washing walls, or performing maintenance. Delivery may require climbing five or more flights of stairs.
  • Stooping/Bending: Forward bending at the waist (e.g., pizza assembly station) for 30-45 seconds at a time, repeated throughout the day. Bending also occurs at the front counter and when stocking ingredients.
  • Crouching/Squatting: Occasionally required for stocking shelves or cleaning low areas.
  • Reaching: Continuous reaching up, down, and forward (e.g., turning oven controls, scooping cornmeal, cleaning surfaces, or answering phones).
  • Driving: Deliver pizzas within a designated area, potentially making several deliveries per shift.

Tools and Equipment

  • Pencils/pens, computers, telephones, calculators, TDD equipment.
  • Pizza cutter, pizza peel.
