Delivery Driver- NON CDL

About the role

The Driver – Non CDL position is based out of Mt. Airy, NC with operations in the U.S. and has overall responsibility for safely transporting shed buildings and truck accessories to designated locations, adhering to delivery schedules, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring the proper loading and unloading of cargo. This position reports directly to the Logistics Driver Lead.

Responsibilities

• Safely operates company vehicles, including box trucks, vans, or pickup trucks, to transport shed buildings and truck accessories to designated locations.
• Adheres to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies while driving, ensuring the safety of oneself, passengers, other motorists, and pedestrians.
• Delivers shed buildings and truck accessories from distribution centers or manufacturing facilities to customer locations, job sites, or retail stores.
• Follows delivery schedules, routes, and instructions provided by dispatchers or transportation managers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
• Loads shed buildings and truck accessories onto the vehicle using appropriate equipment and techniques, ensuring that cargo is properly secured for transport.
• Unloads cargo at delivery locations, using manual or mechanical methods as required, and assist customers with the placement of items as needed.
• Conducts pre-trip and post-trip inspections of company vehicles, checking for mechanical issues, damage, or safety hazards, and reporting any concerns to maintenance or management.
• Performs basic maintenance tasks on company vehicles, such as checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and lighting systems, and reporting any maintenance needs promptly.
• Interacts professionally with customers and recipients at delivery locations, providing courteous and helpful assistance with unloading and placement of shed buildings and truck accessories.
• Addresses customer inquiries or concerns promptly and effectively, ensuring a positive delivery experience and representing Leonard in a professional manner.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Previous experience as a driver, preferably in the transportation or logistics industry.
• Knowledge of local roads and routes in the delivery area.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.

Physical requirements

• Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
• Perform tasks such as loading and securing cargo, and operate commercial vehicles for extended periods.
• Sitting, standing, bending, and reaching.
• Exposure to varying weather conditions and physical exertion associated with manual labor during loading and unloading activities.
