About the role

This position reports to the A-Line Store Manager. The A-Line Store Delivery Driver is responsible for delivering product to customers from the servicing A-Line store and/or picking up returns from customers using a company-provided vehicle. The driver verifies that all parts being delivered match those billed on the accompanying invoice(s). This role may also include in-store duties, representing the company positively, and maintaining good customer relations.

Starting pay rate: $13/hour (pay commensurate with experience).

Responsibilities

  • Verifies product, loads and unloads product at the customer location, and uses available resources to do so safely, including equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks.
  • Transports invoiced products to the appropriate customer using dispatch and delivery tracking software.
  • Represents the company positively and demonstrates good customer relation skills.
  • Performs daily vehicle inspections, including checking gasoline, oil, water, and tires, and fills as required.
  • Records and reports any equipment malfunctions on the Inspection Sheet for review by the Store Manager.
  • Handles money from customers and makes change if necessary.
  • Maintains a satisfactory attendance record.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet areas, workstations, and shipping supply areas neat, complying with all OSHA and company safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Performs all other tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License with a minimum of 1 year of verifiable driving experience.
  • Must successfully complete a background check, criminal history check, physical, human performance evaluation, and drug test.
  • Must maintain regular and prompt attendance.

Skills

  • Ability to safely operate a vehicle and meet all company requirements for being an approved driver.
  • Courteous treatment of and assistance to customers.
  • High degree of attention to prevent injury and damage to self and others when operating a company vehicle.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Work involves continual walking, lifting, carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping, and crouching.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 60 lbs. of weight on a continuous basis.
  • Ability to read and write in English.
  • Attitude that supports the company’s goals and values.
