About the Role

This job is for people who can multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Our goal is to deliver every pizza to our customers as fast as safely possible by operating efficiently in the store. We are looking for highly motivated applicants who rise to the occasion when business demands. A competitive nature is a must. We seek qualified delivery experts with personality, people skills, and a desire to serve.

You must have a reliable vehicle, proof of insurance, a valid driver’s license, and a safe driving record. We offer flexible hours, accommodating schedules from 1 shift per week up to 5–6 shifts per week, with both daytime and evening shifts available.

Responsibilities

  • Operate all equipment
  • Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk-in cooler
  • Prepare product
  • Receive and process telephone orders
  • Complete any required paperwork
  • Clean equipment and facility daily
  • Maintain store equipment
  • Read a map and navigate to designated locations
  • Locate addresses and deliver across adverse terrain while carrying product
  • Use personal vehicle to deliver products

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Reliable vehicle, proof of insurance, valid driver’s license, and safe driving record

Training

Orientation and training are provided on the job, focusing on:

  • Taking orders
  • Labeling boxes
  • Delivering product safely
  • Avoiding hazards and distractions on the road

Skills

  • Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions
  • Verbal communication with customers and co-workers to process orders both over the phone and in person
  • Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide) and ability to make correct monetary change
  • Motor coordination for rapid and accurate movements (e.g., entering orders via keyboard or touchscreen)
  • Map-reading and navigation skills

Work Conditions

Exposure to:

  • Varying and adverse weather conditions (rain, fog, sleet, snow, ice, wind, dust, extreme temperatures)
  • In-store temperatures ranging from 32°F in cooler to 90°F+ in work areas
  • Sudden temperature changes
  • Food odors and cornmeal dust
  • Cramped quarters (e.g., walk-in cooler)
  • Hot surfaces/tools (up to 500°F+ from oven and hot plates)
  • Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts

Sensory Requirements:

  • Talking and listening on the telephone
  • Near and mid-range vision for most in-store tasks
  • Depth perception
  • Ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces

Physical Requirements

  • Standing: Most tasks are performed from a standing position; work surfaces range from 36–48 inches in height.
  • Walking/Jogging/Running: Short distances or durations.
  • Sitting: Paperwork is completed at a desk or table.
  • Lifting: Deliveries include cases weighing up to 50 lbs (dimensions up to 3' x 1.5'), lifted from floor to shelves up to 72" high.
  • Carrying: Large bags/boxes/crates (up to 50 lbs), trays of pizza dough (12 lbs per tray, carried three at a time).
  • Pushing: Trays on dollies (stacks of 24–30 trays, requiring up to 7.5 lbs of force).
  • Climbing: Infrequent use of stairs or ladders (e.g., changing prices, washing walls, maintenance).
  • Stooping/Bending: Forward bending at pizza assembly station (45–120 seconds at a time, repeated continuously).
  • Crouching/Squatting: Occasionally to stock shelves or clean low areas.
  • Reaching: Continuously in all directions (up, down, forward); occasional reaches above 72".
  • Hand Tasks: Eye-hand coordination essential; frequent use of hands for shaping dough, manipulating pizza peel, rolling cutter, and assembling boxes. Frequent pinching and grasping (e.g., cans, phone, pizza cutter, boxes).
