About the Role

The Delivery Specialist is responsible for delivering purchased merchandise to customers within the assigned market while meeting delivery and quality standards. The role focuses on providing a Legendary Customer Experience through trusted relationships, seasoned advice, safe product delivery, problem resolution, and handling returns as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Ensure timely deliveries, meeting or exceeding scheduled delivery times.
  • Operate and maintain a clean and organized delivery vehicle and equipment, including trailers when necessary.
  • Load, unload, and organize products safely and efficiently.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and readiness.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries and any issues that arise.
  • Communicate with customers, providing updates or addressing concerns during delivery.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, creating a positive and friendly experience.
  • Partner with the field sales team and store personnel to meet customer needs.
  • Handle all products with care to avoid damage and ensure safe transport.
  • Follow all traffic laws and company policies for safe driving practices.
  • Handle returns, exchanges, or customer inquiries as needed.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older, with at least 3 years of driving experience and meet MVR check requirements.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • DOT Medical Card as required.
  • Previous truck delivery experience is a plus but not required.
  • Experience with hand truck, dolly, pallet jack, and forklift preferred.

Skills

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Physical and mental stamina to move quickly and safely in-store and outdoors.
  • Ability to push and pull merchandise up to 2,000 pounds with proper material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jack, forklift, dolly).
  • Ability to lift and move large, bulky, or heavy merchandise.
  • Ability to safely load and unload a delivery truck.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Calendar.
  • Excellent time-management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong customer service skills with a professional and friendly attitude.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and count accurately for documentation.
  • Ability to navigate using GPS systems and maps.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Working Conditions

  • Regularly work near mechanical equipment.
  • Drive assigned markets in all weather and road conditions.
  • Moderate noise level in the work environment.
