Delivery Driver Box Truck

About the Role

The Delivery Driver — Box Truck provides superior customer service through safe, effective, and timely delivery of parts and tires to Pep Boys stores. This position is responsible for safely operating a 26 ft. box delivery truck of less than three tons and ensuring the delivery load is stacked, padded, and properly secured. This role may also assist with distribution center/hub operational activities when there are no deliveries to be made and may make deliveries to Pep Boys stores after store hours. This position has been designated as safety-sensitive.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the delivery truck in compliance with all state, county, and local laws; report accidents, incidents, violations, or traffic citations.
• Ensure all delivery loads are stacked, padded, and properly secured.
• Verify load accuracy against the Bill of Lading and acquire appropriate signatures.
• Load and unload tires and parts on the delivery truck by hand and pallet jack.
• Communicate effectively with store associates and management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with no DUIs.
• 1 year of experience driving delivery trucks of less than three tons.
• Ability to maintain a driving record that meets federal, state, and company standards.
• Hazmat and/or forklift certification is a plus.
• Ability to read instructions, policies, procedures, bills of lading, and product descriptions.
• Ability to complete written forms.
• Successful completion of a drug screen.

Physical Demands

• Frequently lift, carry, and place merchandise and supplies up to 50 pounds without assistance.

• Frequent reaching overhead and below the knees, including squatting, bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting.
• Climb up and down ladders to retrieve and stock merchandise.
• Communicate effectively in person, by telephone, or using telecommunications equipment.
• Enter and locate information on a computer.
• Visually verify information, often in small print.
• Safely operate a motor vehicle.

Pay

Pay range: $20.79 to $26.40 per hour based on experience.
