Delivery Driver

Parts Authority, founded in 1973, is a leading national distributor of automotive replacement parts, tools/equipment, and transmissions. Headquartered in Long Island, New York, we are rapidly expanding with over 300 locations servicing customers across multiple states.

About the role

Our Drivers are the company representatives who interact with clients daily. This is a full-time position with a company vehicle provided, offering great pay, benefits, and opportunities for advancement.

Responsibilities

• Pick up and drop off automotive parts while adhering to assigned routes and time schedules.
• Load, transport, and deliver items to customers or businesses in a timely, friendly, and courteous manner.
• Review orders before and after delivery to ensure completeness, accuracy of charges, and customer satisfaction.
• Follow directions from dispatcher, adhere to assigned routes, and use route navigation apps to deliver packages on time.
• Assist with loading and unloading items from vehicles without interfering with customer operations.
• Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and professionally handle complaints or concerns.
• Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record.
• Accept payments, prepare reports (invoices, return forms), and reconcile debt, credit, and collected moneys.
• Complete daily maintenance checks on the company delivery vehicle and report any issues to the manager.
• Assist with other store/warehouse duties (stocking, parts pulling) as assigned.
• Maintain and promote workplace safety.
• Secure and transfer cash or other assets.

Requirements

• Current, valid driver’s license.
• Must meet company insurance requirements (drivers must be 21 years old or over).
• Current valid automobile insurance with your name on the policy.
• Ability to lift, move, push, and pull up to 50 pounds (Auto Body Parts Collision Drivers must lift 75 lbs).
• Prolonged sitting.

Skills

• Ability to manage, track, and account for money transactions and reconcile customer credit/debt balances.
• Proficiency in using tablets/mobile devices for navigation, route optimization, and customer interface/signature capture.
• Exceptional customer service and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to take and follow directions and work well as part of a team.
• Flexible schedule with availability for overtime as needed.
• Previous delivery driving experience is a plus.

Pay

Minimum USD $17.00/hour.
