Delivery Driver

About the role

Perform pre-trip inspection of vehicle to assure safety and road worthiness.

Prepare shipping papers, invoices and/or receipts for loads to be delivered/returned.

Drive truck to destination and perform loading/unloading of delivery as necessary using a hand truck.

Collect payment for goods when necessary.

Maintain cell phone and text contact with supervisor.

Work outdoors in extreme weather (heat, cold, snow, and rain).

Physical Demands

• Must regularly stoop, bend, reach, crouch and balance.
• Must frequently walk, sit, and stand.
• Must regularly and repeatedly lift and move up to 50 lbs.
• Utilize hand truck and/or pallet jack.
• Must complete 20 – 40 customer deliveries per day with daily aggregate weights of over 15,000 lbs.

Skills & Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Class A or B, from the state of residence.
• (3) years related experience and/or training.
• Minimum of high school diploma or GED.
• Good interpersonal skills (i.e., customer relations).
• Must be insurable by the employer’s motor vehicle liability carrier.
• Must follow safe work practices and procedures.

Hours

Hours: Tuesday - Friday (typical); Mondays and overtime as required.

Compensation

Starting rate: $31.07 per hour.
