Delivery Driver
About the role
CORT Furniture Rental is hiring immediate full-time non-CDL drivers in Warren, MI. The Delivery Driver works collaboratively as part of the Operations team. Responsibilities include loading furniture, delivering safely to customers' homes or office spaces, assembling furniture, and ensuring a positive customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Review route, safety topics, and more with the operations team at the start of the day
- Drive a 26-foot box truck with a lift gate to customers’ homes or offices
- Unload, deliver, and install furniture while interacting with customers
- Absorb and assist in the warehouse as needed, which may involve loading and unloading furniture
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- At least 21 years of age
- Valid and current driver’s license in the state of residency
- A minimum of 6 months professional experience driving a 24-foot box truck or larger commercial vehicle (1 year preferred)
- Physically able and willing to move furniture indoors, outdoors, up or down stairs and in all weather conditions; ability to lift 100+ pounds with a partner
- Compliant with FMSCA regulations
- Passes a physical and drug screening
- Successfully passes a road test based on FMCSA/CORT requirements
- Reads and speaks the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records
- Maintains a valid DOT Medical Evaluator Certificate

Pay
$20 to $22 per hour depending on experience
Schedule
Standard is Monday-Friday 8:am- 5:pm; some flexibility or overtime may be required
