Reports to: Nutrition Services Manager
About the role
Delivers food and materials to Head Start locations daily throughout Clackamas County, meeting all sanitation requirements, assigned timelines, and following safety rules. Picks up material as directed. 36-hour per week position.
Responsibilities
- Operate agency vehicles following all safety rules.
- Transport perishable foods and supplies in a timely manner; ensure food safety by documenting delivery temperatures.
- Purchase and pick up food and supplies from local retailers and wholesale vendors.
- Keep interiors of delivery vehicle clean daily and exteriors as needed.
- Perform light maintenance and refueling on agency vehicles, carts, and equipment.
- Report any needed repairs to vehicle as needed to Facilities Manager.
- Report food safety concerns immediately.
- Check all pickups and deliveries for accuracy.
- Assist with receiving, stocking, inventory control, and distribution of food, kitchen supplies, and agency materials.
- Maintain agency’s inventory and tracking system and log status of deliveries.
- Assist the Operations department with other tasks as needed.
- Report suspected child abuse in accordance with Oregon Statute and Head Start procedures.
- Attend training sessions and participate in training opportunities.
- Follow Clackamas County Children’s Commission core competencies and policies and procedures relative to position duties.
- Work as a team with other staff in providing services to children and families.
- Maintain the confidentiality of highly sensitive information.
- Interact with children, families, and community members in a supportive and professional manner.
- Follow safety best practices for driving, loading, unloading, and lifting all loads.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- U.S. High School Diploma/GED or equivalent – OR – ability to complete GED within one year of hire.
- Ability to carry out oral and written directions, read, and speak at a level sufficient to fulfill the duties to be performed for the position described.
- Current driver’s license, two years of driving experience, and driving record which meets agency requirements and ability to be insured by insurance carrier.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds daily.
- Must be able to remain on your feet for prolonged periods while performing job duties.
- Must be able to drive for extended periods as required to travel to multiple sites or meetings.
- Must be able to perform frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting associated with the position.
- Must be enrolled in the Oregon Central Background Registry prior to beginning employment and enrollment must be maintained throughout employment.
- Post-offer fitness for duty evaluation must be obtained within 30 days of hire date.
- Food handler’s card must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse & Neglect training must be completed within 60 days of hire date.
- Introduction to Child Health and Safety training must be completed within 30 days of hire date.

- Ability to possess and maintain current First Aid/CPR certification.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Oregon Food Handler’s Card.
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual skills: oral and written fluency in English with fluency also in Spanish.
Working Conditions

Pay
$19.38/hour
