Delivery Driver
About the role
The primary responsibilities of this position will be to deliver and pickup freight including equipment, construction materials and tools from fabrication facilities, vendors and job sites. The secondary responsibilities will include supporting warehouse logistics, inventory control, and fulfilling parts and material orders. Additionally, managing tool cribs and safety equipment is a key function.
Responsibilities
- Load and properly secure freight, and vehicle side and lift gates for transportation.
- Drive multiple size delivery trucks to various jobsites and vendor facilities throughout the region.
- Safely unload deliveries at various jobsites and ensure the correct freight is being delivered.
- Utilize material handling equipment such as forklifts, reach lifts, pallet jacks and other devices for loading and unloading.
- Aid in all warehouse logistics including inbound and outbound freight.
- Cook up and communicate expected delivery date expectations of materials/hardware orders back to the field teams.
- Support inventory management filing system.
- Assist with Inventory of all equipment, materials, tools and hardware.
- Assist with management and inventory of all safety related equipment and PPE’s.
- Aid in the filing of service paperwork.
- Support the services and construction department in various tasks.
- Shipping and receiving of orders and freight following the facilities established procedures.
- Process associated documentation and archive to appropriate project folder.
- Perform other operational support duties as assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor or Warehouse Manager.
Requirements
- Must have a valid CA Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
- Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer skills (MS Suite, PDFs, Google Suite).
- Demonstrate a corresponding high sense of integrity.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration abilities, employing strong organizational skills to respond successfully to a high volume of issues.
- Ability to operate vehicles with limited vision utilizing mirrors and/or backup cameras.
- Ability to operate vehicles on uneven surfaces around construction sites.
- Must be highly organized and keep a neat and orderly workspace at all times.
- Ability to operate independently yet possess good judgment to know when it’s appropriate to consult the Warehouse Supervisor or Warehouse Manager.
- Understand and obey all vehicle traffic laws and regulations.
- One year of related work experience in warehouse logistics preferred.
- Experience in operating vehicles 1 ton and larger is preferred.

Physical Requirements
- Safely operate multiple delivery vehicle sizes (including trucks 1 ton and larger).
- Requires frequent entry and exit from truck cabs and cargo areas throughout the workday.
- Regularly lift, carry, load, unload, and move tools, construction materials, and equipment.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- Safely operate material-handling equipment, including forklifts, reach lifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse devices.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must be able to safely walk and navigate on uneven, unpaved, or changing surfaces typical of active construction sites and vendor facilities.
- Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are required to safely operate vehicles utilizing mirrors and/or backup cameras.
Employment Contingencies
- Offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of a background check, a clean DMV driving record review, and any post-offer, job-related physical examinations permitted by law.
Hours
Monday – Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, with earlier than 6am starts, overtime and work on weekends as required.
Pay
Competitive Wages $17.79 to $25.00 per hour.
