About the role
Domino's Pizza is looking for qualified delivery drivers to join our growing team. As a driver, you'll have opportunities to grow within the company—many of our franchise owners and managers started as delivery drivers.
Responsibilities
- Deliver orders to customers using your insured vehicle or a company vehicle (where applicable).
- Navigate efficiently using maps or GPS to locate addresses within the designated delivery area, including multi-story buildings and adverse terrain.
- Operate store equipment and assist with general store duties, such as:
- Stocking ingredients from delivery areas to storage, work areas, and walk-in coolers.
- Preparing products and processing telephone orders.
- Taking inventory and completing associated paperwork.
- Cleaning equipment and the facility on a daily basis.
- Communicate clearly with customers and co-workers to process orders both over the phone and in person.
- Perform basic math functions, including making correct monetary change.
- Enter orders accurately using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record that meets company standards.
- Access to an insured vehicle for deliveries.
- Strong navigational skills to read maps and locate addresses.
- Ability to work in varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, and climbing stairs or ladders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with temperature variations (e.g., walk-in cooler, hot ovens).
- Strong communication skills, including verbal, written, and telephone proficiency.
- Motor coordination to handle rapid and precise movements, such as making pizzas or entering orders.
Work Conditions
- Exposure to varying temperatures, from 36°F in the cooler to 90°F or higher in work areas.
- Frequent exposure to food odors, cornmeal dust, and cramped quarters (e.g., walk-in cooler).
- Handling hot surfaces and tools, including ovens up to 500°F or higher.
- Working around sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
- Tasks may involve standing for most of the shift, walking short distances, and occasional sitting for paperwork.
- Physical demands include lifting and carrying heavy items (e.g., cases of supplies up to 50 pounds, trays of pizza dough, and cans of sauce).
- Infrequent climbing of stairs or ladders for tasks like changing signs or performing maintenance.
Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide quickly and accurately.
- Proficiency in making correct monetary change.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for processing orders.
- Hand-eye coordination for rapid and precise movements (e.g., entering orders, preparing food).
- Ability to work under stress, meet quality control standards, and collaborate with others.
- Experience with computer keyboards or touch screens for order entry.
