About the Role
This position involves delivering products to customers within a designated area, as well as performing general store team member duties.
Responsibilities
- Operate all equipment and stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk-in cooler.
- Prepare product and receive/process telephone orders.
- Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
- Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
- Deliver pizzas and other products to customers within a designated delivery area.
- Deliver flyers and door hangers.
- Navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings and private homes, while carrying product.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Valid driver's license with a safe driving record meeting company standards.
- Access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
- Navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (may use calculator).
- Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
- Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers for rapid and precise movements.
- Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
- Ability to make correct monetary change.
Work Conditions
- Exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when delivering product, driving, and performing outside tasks.
- In-store temperatures range from 36°F in cooler areas to 90°F and above in some work areas, with sudden temperature changes.
- Exposure to fumes from food odors, cornmeal dust, and cramped quarters including walk-in coolers.
- Hot surfaces/tools from ovens up to 500°F or higher, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.
Sensory Requirements
- Talking and hearing on the telephone.
- Near and mid-range vision for most in-store tasks, depth perception, and ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.
- Far vision and night vision for driving.
Temperaments
- Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, and work under stress.
- Ability to meet strict quality control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
Physical Requirements
- Standing: Most tasks are performed from a standing position on ceramic tile or linoleum surfaces.
- Walking: Short distances for short durations, including between store and delivery vehicle, and from vehicle to customer's location.
- Sitting: Paperwork is completed in an office at a desk or table.
- Lifting: Deliveries may include cases weighing up to 50 pounds, lifted from floor and stacked onto shelves up to 72" high.
- Carrying: Large cans (3 lbs, 7 oz), pizza sauce (30 lbs), trays of pizza dough (12 lbs per tray), and pizzas/beverages during delivery.
- Pushing: Trays on dollies (up to 7.5 pounds of force required).
- Climbing: Navigating stairs or ladders for maintenance or delivery (up to five or more flights of stairs).
- Stooping/Bending: Forward bending at the waist for pizza assembly, front counter, and stocking ingredients.
- Crouching/Squatting: Occasionally to stock shelves and clean low areas.
- Reaching: Continuously in all directions, including above 72" and down to floor level.
- Hand Tasks: Eye-hand coordination essential; frequent use of hands for shaping dough, using pizza peel, cutting pizza, and assembling boxes.
