Responsibilities
- Operate all store equipment.
- Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk-in cooler.
- Prepare product and receive/process telephone orders.
- Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
- Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
- Navigate and locate addresses within the designated delivery area, including multi-story buildings.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Valid driver's license with a safe driving record meeting company standards.
- Navigational skills to read maps and locate addresses.
- Ability to comprehend and give correct written and verbal instructions.
- Strong communication skills for processing orders over the phone and in person.
- Basic math skills for making correct monetary change and handling transactions.
- Motor coordination for rapid and precise movements, including using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly.
- Verbal, writing, and telephone skills for order processing.
- Ability to work under varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions.
- Tolerance for in-store temperatures ranging from 36°F in coolers to 90°F or above in work areas.
- Ability to handle exposure to food odors, cornmeal dust, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.
- Capability to perform tasks requiring near and mid-range vision, depth perception, and differentiation between hot and cold surfaces.
- Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone or with others, handle stress, and make judgments and decisions.
Work Conditions
- Exposure to varying and adverse weather conditions during outside tasks.
- In-store temperatures range from 36°F in coolers to 90°F or higher in work areas.
- Frequent exposure to fumes from food odors and cornmeal dust.
- Cramped quarters, including walk-in coolers.
- Hot surfaces and tools, with oven temperatures up to 500°F or higher.
- Tasks performed mostly from a standing position, with occasional short-distance walking on various surfaces.
- Paperwork completed while sitting at a desk or table.
Physical Requirements
- Standing: Most tasks are performed while standing.
- Lifting: Unload bulk product deliveries (up to 50 pounds) using a hand truck; stack cases onto shelves up to 72 inches high.
- Carrying: Carry large cans (3 lbs, 7 oz), pizza sauce (30 lbs), and trays of pizza dough (12 lbs per tray, three at a time).
- Pushing/Pulling: Move trays on dollies requiring up to 7.5 pounds of force.
- Climbing: Infrequent use of stairs or ladders for tasks like changing prices, washing walls, or performing maintenance.
