About the role
This role involves safely and efficiently delivering live chicks by operating tractor-trailers between hatcheries, farms, and facilities.
Responsibilities
- Load, unload, and disperse chicks using Moffett equipment
- Conduct vehicle inspections
- Maintain compliance with DOT regulations
- Handle documentation such as manifests and proof of delivery
- Ensure animal welfare
- Keep equipment clean
- Represent the company’s professionalism
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Class A CDL
- At least 2 years of over-the-road driving experience with chick delivery or refrigerated trailers, or 1 year with a driving school degree
Physical demands
- Prolonged seated driving
- Lifting up to 100 pounds
- Operating Moffett equipment
- Exposure to dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes
- Travel to remote locations
- Working independently in a fast-paced environment
