Delivery Assistant

Job Description

Aid the driver in loading and unloading beverage products for customers. Duties include checking-in products with accounts, reviewing invoices, and merchandising products. Essential duties include reading and working from a routing manifest, accurately recording invoices, safely delivering products, and documenting customer receipts.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Read and work from the routing manifest to deliver products to customers using various equipment.
• Accurately record invoices, credits, or other instructional information on the truck route manifest.
• Safely and efficiently deliver products to customers according to the manifest instructions.
• Verify accurate payment for invoices and handle returned product.
• Assist customers during delivery as needed.
• Follow correct procedures to document customer receipt of product, including handling omissions or errors.
• Collect payment as appropriate.
• Listen to service complaints.
• Place stock on shelves or racks.
• Pick up or collect empty containers, rejects, or unsold merchandise.
• Issue or obtain customer signatures on receipts for pickup or delivery.
• Suggest and implement ways to improve profits, quality, and service for the warehouse and company.

Job Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• At least 21 years old.
• Clean driving record, no SR22 insurance.
• Copies of Driver’s License and DMV record required before starting.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Beverage delivery experience preferred.
• Good customer relations skills.

Physical Demands

• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 170 pounds (full beer kegs).
• Operate a pallet jack and hand cart to transport products safely.

Work Environment

• The work environment is usually moderate noise, occasionally high due to external factors.
• Works in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
