Deli Manager
About the role
The Deli Manager plays a key role in leading deli operations and ensuring all company standards, policies, and food safety regulations are met. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and customer-focused environment, managing inventory and food costs, and fostering a culture of teamwork and accountability. The Deli Manager supports Refuel’s mission by delivering quality products, exceptional service, and strong financial performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team that delivers friendly, efficient, and high-quality service.
- Oversee all deli operations, ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
- Manage inventory levels, ordering, and waste control to meet company and financial goals.
- Analyze sales and financial data to identify opportunities and improve profitability.
- Ensure food quality, freshness, and proper product presentation at all times.
- Recruit, train, and coach team members to achieve performance and service standards.
- Schedule and supervise deli staff to ensure adequate coverage and operational efficiency.
- Maintain vendor relationships and verify order accuracy and product quality.
- Support a clean, safe, and compliant work environment by conducting regular inspections.
- Model professional behavior, uphold company policies, and perform additional duties as needed.
Requirements
- Previous retail, food service, or customer service experience.
- Must be 18 years or older to apply.
- Must be able to stand during the entire work shift.
- Must be able to work in a cooler at a temperature of 35 degrees for up to 30 minutes.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must have visual acuity to check identification and process money orders.
- Must be able to tolerate gas fumes and cleaning products.
- Must be able to climb a ladder to clean windows.
- Must be able to travel up to 10%.

Schedule
