About the role
The Deli Lead assists in overseeing Deli operations including front of house service, retail merchandising, and production cooking. They provide mentorship and coaching to deli staff, setting the standard for excellent customer service, and participate in department planning including scheduling, budgeting, and product mix.

Responsibilities
- Provide and model excellent, professional customer service and mentor staff in this area.
- Assist in overseeing deli operations, including front of house service, retail merchandising, and production cooking.
- Manage the department in the absence of the Deli Manager.
- Provide direction, supervision, hands-on coaching, and mentorship to deli staff.
- Participate in production cooking as needed.
- Engage in department planning with the Deli management team, including budgeting, product mix, and scheduling.
- Mentor and train staff to ensure department sanitation, cleanliness, and safety standards are met.
- Gain thorough knowledge of all Deli products and services.

Requirements
- Proven ability to provide excellent, professional customer service.
- Experience in retail operations, including a background in and knowledge of prepared specialty foods and products.
- At least 1 year of management experience.
- A high level of awareness of health and safety codes and the ability to implement systems to maintain compliance.
- Strong production cooking, recipe development, and kitchen management experience.
- Demonstrated organizational and planning skills.
- Computer knowledge and skills, including Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to multitask on an ongoing basis.
- Excellent leadership, teambuilding, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Flexible schedule with availability to work evenings and weekends.
- Ability to meet physical demands, including standing, bending, twisting, repetitive motion, and lifting 10–40 lbs regularly.
- A current Food Worker Card from the Washington State Department of Health is required.
- If hired, a Certified Food Protection Manager certification (e.g., ServSafe) is required (paid for by PCC).
- If hired, a CPR/First Aid Certification is required (paid for by PCC).
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
