Deli Department Manager

Wage: $22.00 an hour with a $2,500.00 hiring bonus. This is a full-time position requiring flexible day, evening, and weekend availability.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with Buying and General Manager teams regarding merchandising, new product implementation, and appropriate pricing.
• Follow through promptly with directions.
• Develop and mentor the Assistant Department Manager to prepare them for the Department Manager role (where applicable).
• Assign duties to team members and schedule break periods, work hours, and vacations based on business needs and upcoming store events.
• Communicate regularly with the scan department to resolve incorrect information and ensure correct pricing.
• Devise game plans and plan-o-grams for department merchandising in conjunction with the Buying team.
• Understand retail label systems and communicate with Scan, General Management, and/or Buying teams to ensure correct pricing.
• Function as a working manager, performing all department responsibilities to ensure smooth operation.
• Oversee ordering of departmental supplies and merchandise from approved vendors using current inventory and ordering systems.
• Supervise and perform departmental inventories to ensure accuracy and thoroughness.
• Train team members in store policies, department procedures, product knowledge, and job duties to ensure productivity and safety.

Requirements

• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Regular exposure to cold temperatures while working in or around coolers.
