About the role

The Deli Clerk is responsible for performing duties as directed by the Deli Manager and/or Assistant Deli Manager to ensure the successful operation of the Deli Department. You will maintain high standards of customer service, present yourself professionally, and comply with all company policies.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers, ensuring their complete satisfaction
• Slice and weigh deli meats and cheeses to customer specifications
• Maintain and stock all designated department areas
• Clean department equipment periodically throughout the shift and at close of business
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the department
• Set up and tear down required areas at designated times
• Communicate departmental or store promotions to customers
• Be present at your workstation at the start of your shift
• Comply with all safety policies and procedures
• Adhere to the Customer Service Pledge and maintain a neat, professional appearance
• Ensure attendance to support overall department function
• Comply with all policies in the Employee Handbook

Qualifications

• No minimum educational requirement
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds
• Ability to calculate figures such as pounds and weight increments
• Ability to hear, speak, and understand the spoken word
• Proficiency in reading, writing, analyzing, and interpreting English
• Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and taste or smell
• Regularly required to stand, use full hand and digit functions, reach with hands and arms, and manipulate objects
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, distant vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus
