About the role

This position involves rotating, stocking, and straightening merchandise and supplies in a deli-bakery department. The role also includes following proper pricing and packaging procedures, performing housekeeping duties, operating equipment safely, cleaning tools and equipment, and standing/walking for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Rotates, stocks, and straightens merchandise and supplies.
• Correctly prices all merchandise according to departmental guidelines.
• Follows proper wrapping and packaging procedures, including the use of the correct size tray and plastic wrap &/or container.
• Performs basic housekeeping duties using available equipment.
• Operates all required tools and equipment in a safe manner.
• Cleans all required deli-bakery department tools and equipment.
• Produces bakery/deli products following proper procedures.
• Stands and/or walks at a rapid pace for extended periods of time.
• May be required to decorate cakes.
• Receives and unloads truck deliveries using available equipment and according to established guidelines.
• Lifts and moves items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Lifts and moves items weighing over 50 pounds as needed.
• Works in temperature extremes, handling frozen foods and storage coolers at minimum temperatures of -10 degrees.
• Orders product according to established guidelines in the absence of the deli manager.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
