About the Role

This position involves performing essential and secondary duties in the deli department, including stocking, pricing, packaging, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Rotates, stocks, and straightens merchandise and supplies.
• Correctly prices all merchandise according to departmental guidelines.
• Follows proper wrapping and packaging procedures, including using the correct size tray, plastic wrap, and/or container.
• Performs basic housekeeping duties using available equipment (mops, brooms, floor scrubbing and buffing machines, etc.).
• Operates all required tools and equipment in a safe manner; follows all safety policies and procedures.
• Cleans all required deli-bakery department tools and equipment.
• Follows proper procedures for producing all bakery/deli products.
• Stands and/or walks at a rapid pace for extended periods of time.
• Lifts and moves items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Maintains a neat and clean work area.
• Performs all essential job functions at an acceptable level of speed and accuracy with limited supervision.
• May be required to decorate cakes.
• Receives and unloads truck deliveries using available equipment and according to established guidelines.
• Lifts and moves items weighing over 50 pounds.
• Works in temperature extremes (frozen foods & storage cooler maximum low temperature, -10 degrees).
• Orders product according to established guidelines in the absence of the deli manager.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
