Deli Associate

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Greet every customer in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner
• Prepare and package deli meats, cheeses, salads, hot foods, and other prepared items according to company standards
• Slice meats and cheeses accurately based on customer requests
• Maintain attractive, fully stocked service cases and self-service displays
• Rotate product using FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory practices
• Monitor product quality and freshness; remove and properly dispose of outdated or unsellable products
• Clean and sanitize workstations, slicers, equipment, utensils, and preparation areas throughout the day
• Maintain proper labeling, pricing, and date coding on all products
• Accurately weigh, package, and label products
• Follow all company safety procedures and immediately report hazards or equipment issues
• Absorb and assist with receiving deliveries and stocking inventory
• Prepare catering trays and special customer orders as needed
• Work cooperatively with other departments to support overall store operations
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

• Previous deli, food service, restaurant, or grocery experience is preferred but not required
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Dependable with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Willingness to learn and work as part of a team
