Deicing Agent

About the role

The Aircraft Deicing Agent will perform basic de-icing services to commercial aircraft and check aircraft for leading edge ice and frost.

Responsibilities

• Check aircraft for leading edge ice and frost
• Apply Deice Fluid Type 1 or Type 4 to aircraft wings, fuselage, and tail
• Drive large, heavy vehicles around aircraft during de-icing operations
• Accurately account for de-icing fluid transactions
• Perform daily quality control checks on equipment and vehicles
• Operate headset/radio to communicate between ground crew, flight crew, and dispatch
• Comply with all safety procedures and protocols
• Provide additional services as required
• Meet the Station's attendance and tardiness standards

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Possess a valid US driver's license
• Pass pre-employment drug screen
• Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Comfortable lifting 70 lbs repetitively
• Comfortable working in all weather conditions
• Pass FBI background check and obtain US Customs Seal
• Comfortable working at heights of 15-20 feet
• Available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience loading and unloading heavy products or equipment
• Prior ramp experience
