About the role
The Aircraft Deicing Agent will perform basic de-icing services to commercial aircraft and check aircraft for leading edge ice and frost.
Responsibilities
- Check aircraft for leading edge ice and frost
- Apply Deice Fluid Type 1 or Type 4 to aircraft wings, fuselage, and tail
- Drive large, heavy vehicles around aircraft during de-icing operations
- Accurately account for de-icing fluid transactions
- Perform daily quality control checks on equipment and vehicles
- Operate headset/radio to communicate between ground crew, flight crew, and dispatch
- Comply with all safety procedures and protocols
- Provide additional services as required
- Meet the Station's attendance and tardiness standards
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Possess a valid US driver's license
- Pass pre-employment drug screen
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English
- Comfortable lifting 70 lbs repetitively
- Comfortable working in all weather conditions
- Pass FBI background check and obtain US Customs Seal
- Comfortable working at heights of 15-20 feet
- Available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience loading and unloading heavy products or equipment
- Prior ramp experience
