About the Role

The Bartender greets guests and serves in a courteous and professional manner at the bar in the Restaurant, focusing on the importance of customer service. This position has a thorough knowledge of alcoholic beverages, knows how to properly execute common and specialty alcoholic drinks, and serves in a properly timed manner. This position communicates with management, culinary staff, and other staff pertinent information and maintains an open rapport with guests and staff.

Responsibilities

• Informs guests of any specials or pertinent information for the day and answers inquiries concerning the food menus and alcoholic beverages.
• Completes set-up of bar and side work responsibilities.
• Takes drink orders and/or meal orders accurately, asking questions when necessary, and repeating the order back to ensure everything is correct.
• Recommends drinks or wine to the guests and uses the skills and knowledge, as necessary, to meets guest needs.
• Serves guests drinks and/or food in a properly timed manner and follows-up with guests to ensure that everything is satisfactory.
• Presents check in a timely manner and ensures that payment is taken, and the guest received their paid receipt.
• Maintains a clean and safe working environment, with continual emphasis on guest service.
• Assists in training new staff in proper execution of the bartender position.
• Stays continually informed about any upcoming or current events happening in Mitchell Hall.

• 2 years bartending experience
