Degree Auditor

About the role

The University of Southern Mississippi is seeking a Degree Auditor to join the Office of the University Registrar. The position is located at 118 College Drive, Hattiesburg, Mississippi, 39406-0001.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

• Reviews and ensures the completion of all degree requirements for each degree candidate prior to the awarding of the degree.
• Audits Degree Progress Reports at the completion of each term to ensure all academic requirements have been met prior to the awarding of a student’s degree.
• Assists with the planning and setup of fall and spring commencement ceremonies, including assignment of seating cards, commencement programs, honor cords, and processing all student related commencement fees.
• Collaborates with various academic units across campus to ensure all degree requirements have been completed prior to awarding the degree.
• Assists with the diploma mailing process, which includes the mailing of diplomas and inventory control of items associated with the process.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• A high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• One to three years related work experience
• Working knowledge of PeopleSoft
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel

Preferred Qualifications

• One to two years experience of working in a higher education environment
• Experience working with excel spreadsheets and PeopleSoft Student information system
