About the role

This role supports a Government agency within the homeland security enterprise, offering opportunities to expand support to other national security-related organizations. Specific initiatives and work products may include:

  • Supporting internal controls over financial reporting (ICOFR)
  • Developing and executing corrective action plans
  • Providing audit and audit risk management support
  • Assessing the impact of new guidance on financial operations
  • Applying analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills
  • Documenting and evaluating business processes
  • Producing various communications
  • Conducting research and collaborating on solutions
  • Assisting clients in analyzing projects and programs
  • Collecting and analyzing data, producing models and visualizations
  • Analyzing and improving policies and procedures

Responsibilities

In addition to client-facing responsibilities, this role supports important activities that contribute to the growth of our business, strengthen internal operations, and create a positive work environment for all Guidehouse employees. These activities include:

  • Aiding in business development activities
  • Participating in coaching and mentoring programs
  • Developing learning and development materials
  • Supporting Guidehouse programs and initiatives
  • Aiding in proposal and white paper development
  • Attending client and internal account meetings
  • Assisting in the development of learning and development materials
  • Participating in Guidehouse programs for recruiting top talent

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD "PUBLIC TRUST"
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Two (2) years of financial experience
  • Heightened attention to detail and strong organizational and communication skills
  • Interest in growing a career in Government/Federal/Defense and National Security consulting
  • Ability to work in teams to produce high-impact work products, reports, and other deliverables in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to utilize project management best practices within an organization

Qualifications

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD "PUBLIC TRUST"

Skills

  • Proven knowledge and success in advising federal clients in financial reporting and meeting the requirements of related federal guidance
  • Demonstrated GAAP accounting expertise and knowledge of Federal financial accounting standards and USSGL
  • Experience with Federal financial management activities, including federal accounting, budget, financial statement audits, and financial risk management
  • Certification(s): CPA, CGFM, PMP

Pay

The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $120,000 annually.

Schedule

The schedule for this role is typically full-time, with up to 10% travel required.
