About the Role

This Jobot Job is for a Paralegal position at a nationally recognized law firm with a strong regional presence. The Grosse Pointe Farms office supports a wide range of litigation and corporate practice areas, and they are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Paralegal to join their growing team.

Responsibilities

• Draft and review legal documents including pleadings, discovery, subpoenas, motions, and correspondence
• Manage case files from inception through resolution, ensuring organization and compliance with court deadlines
• Conduct legal research and summarize findings for attorney review
• Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including witness coordination and document exhibits
• File documents with state and federal courts (both electronically and in person as needed)
• Communicate with clients, experts, and opposing counsel in a professional and courteous manner
• Maintain accurate billing records and time entries in accordance with firm policies

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree required; Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program strongly preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense or medical malpractice
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal practice management software
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced legal environment
• Familiarity with Michigan court rules and procedures
