Position Overview
Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is seeking a mid-level associate to join its Florida team, focusing on general litigation and tort defense. This role presents an excellent opportunity for attorneys seeking meaningful responsibility, hands-on experience, and long-term career growth within a dynamic and expanding practice. Attorneys in this role will manage a diverse and challenging caseload, with early responsibility and the opportunity to work across state and federal courts while receiving strong mentorship and professional development support.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent clients in general liability and tort defense matters in Florida, and federal courts.
- Manage cases from inception through resolution, including discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
- Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
- Conduct depositions, attend hearings, and participate in mediations & settlement negotiations.
- Develop litigation strategies and provide legal analysis on complex matters.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure efficient case management and high-quality client service.
- Maintain strong client relationships and communicate case developments effectively.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Florida State Bar and in good standing.
- 3+ years of experience in general litigation and tort defense.
- Experience handling matters in Florida, and/or federal courts.
- Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Able to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
- High level of professionalism, attention to detail, and client service orientation.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
